Expanded metal is a form of metal stock made by shearing a metal plate in a press. Therefore, the metal stretches, leaving diamond-shaped voids surrounded by interlinked bars of the metal. Such products find their usage in producing grates, in outdoor furniture (benches), fencing, installation of "heating floor" system and plastering (metal lath). This stuff is produced by piercing a metal sheet.
Exmet manufacturing technology
Expanded metal is often shortened to exmet. Methods of production of it allow for using whichever material you wish. Of course it depends on few factors, for instance if it is pliable for strong pushing, such as stainless or carbon steel. The considered material is often used for prevention purposes when it comes to contact with hot surfaces or machinery. If you are going to use it for decorative panels or elevation the best way is to install it along the direction of cutting. It is a large part of the metal industry and plays a key role in metal fabrication.
